Overview

A naturally occurring nonapeptide hormone produced by the thymus gland. Requires zinc for biological activity (zinc-thymulin complex). Serum levels decline with age as the thymus involutes. Used in the longevity community for immune optimization and anti-aging. Very limited human PK data from exogenous administration. Requires reconstitution with BAC water.

Mechanism of Action

Promotes T-cell differentiation and maturation. Modulates cytokine production and immune homeostasis. Requires zinc as a cofactor for receptor binding and biological activity.
