Overview
Oral testosterone in self-emulsifying lipid capsule. Absorbed via intestinal lymphatic system, partially bypassing first-pass liver metabolism. Must be taken with food (fatty meal). BID dosing produces a sawtooth PK pattern. Steady state within ~7 days.
Mechanism of Action
Lipid-based formulation allows intestinal lymphatic absorption, partially bypassing hepatic first-pass metabolism. The undecanoate ester is cleaved to release active testosterone.
