Overview
Intranasal testosterone gel (4.5%, 5.5mg per actuation) dosed 3 times daily. Very rapid absorption (Tmax ~40 min) producing pulsatile levels that mimic natural testosterone secretion. Unique among TRT: may preserve gonadotropin (LH/FSH) levels and fertility. Disadvantages: TID dosing, nasal irritation.
Mechanism of Action
Testosterone absorbs rapidly through the nasal mucosa into systemic circulation. Pulsatile delivery pattern more closely mimics natural episodic testosterone secretion than other formulations.
