Overview

Synthetic mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide (D-Arg-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH2). Concentrates in the inner mitochondrial membrane where it stabilizes cardiolipin and improves electron transport chain efficiency. In clinical trials for Barth syndrome and other mitochondrial diseases. One of the better-characterized mitochondrial peptides. Requires reconstitution with BAC water.

Mechanism of Action

Selectively targets and accumulates in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Stabilizes cardiolipin, optimizes electron transport chain function, reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and improves mitochondrial ATP output.
