Overview
Neuropeptide hormone used in the wellness/biohacking community, primarily as compounded nasal spray. Research interest in social bonding, anxiety reduction, and metabolic effects. Also available as SubQ injection from compounding pharmacies.
Mechanism of Action
Endogenous neuropeptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus. Acts on oxytocin receptors in the brain (social bonding, trust, anxiety modulation) and peripherally (smooth muscle contraction, milk ejection).
