Overview
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide — a coenzyme found in all living cells that is critical for cellular energy production and DNA repair. Not technically a peptide but widely tracked by the peptide/longevity community. Available as IV infusions (clinic-administered) and subcutaneous injections (self-administered). NAD+ levels naturally decline with age. Half-life varies significantly by route.
Mechanism of Action
Essential cofactor for sirtuins (SIRT1-7), PARPs (DNA repair enzymes), and CD38. Central to mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation and cellular energy metabolism.
Dosing Information
| Route | Dose Range | Half-life | Tmax | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Subcutaneous (SubQ) | 50–200 mg | 2 hr | 1 hr | Daily, three times weekly |
| Intravenous (IV) | 250–1000 mg | 45 min | 6 min | Weekly, Twice weekly |
Storage & Handling
