Overview

Rapid-acting insulin analogue. Onset ~15 minutes, peak ~1 hour, duration ~3-5 hours. Used for mealtime bolus dosing. Lyumjev is the ultra-rapid formulation with faster absorption.

Mechanism of Action

Recombinant insulin analogue with reversed lysine-proline sequence at positions B28-B29, reducing self-association and enabling faster subcutaneous absorption than regular insulin.
