Overview
Ultra-long-acting basal insulin. Duration >42 hours — the longest-acting insulin available. Very flat profile with lowest day-to-day variability. Flexible dosing timing (8-40 hour window between doses).
Mechanism of Action
Recombinant insulin analogue with C16 fatty diacid side chain acylated to B29 lysine (B30 deleted). Forms soluble multi-hexamer chains at injection site that slowly release monomers over >42 hours.
