Overview
Synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on the natural pineal gland peptide epithalamin. Researched primarily by Prof. Vladimir Khavinson (St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology). Proposed to activate telomerase, potentially extending telomere length and cellular lifespan. Limited Western clinical data. Used in the longevity/anti-aging peptide community. Requires reconstitution with BAC water.
Mechanism of Action
Activates telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) in somatic cells, potentially extending telomere length. Also reported to normalize circadian melatonin production via pineal gland modulation and upregulate antioxidant enzyme expression.
