Overview

Hormone precursor often supplemented on TRT to maintain DHEA/DHEA-S levels, which can decline when exogenous testosterone suppresses adrenal androgen production. Available OTC in the US, prescription-only in the UK.

Mechanism of Action

Adrenal steroid hormone precursor. Converts to androstenedione and then to testosterone and estrogen. Also acts as a neurosteroid with direct CNS effects.
