Overview
Long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist. Approved as a bronchodilator for horses (and asthma in some EU/UK markets). Not FDA-approved for humans. Widely used in AAS cutting cycles for thermogenic and anti-catabolic effects. Harm reduction: Tachycardia, hypertension, and electrolyte depletion are dose-dependent and common. Standard community protocol uses 2-week on / 2-week off cycles with increasing dose titration ("pyramid"). Potassium and taurine supplementation recommended to prevent cramping and cardiac arrhythmia risk. Detect window: ~4–5 days (WADA prohibited). Half-life: ~36–48 hours — once-daily dosing is standard.
Mechanism of Action
Selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. Increases basal metabolic rate via thermogenesis (beta-2 stimulation in adipose tissue). Anti-catabolic via beta-2 mediated mTOR pathway activation. Bronchodilatory (relaxes bronchial smooth muscle) — original indication.
