Overview
Porcine brain-derived peptide preparation containing low-molecular-weight neuropeptides and free amino acids. Approved in over 30 countries (not FDA-approved in the US) for stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, and dementia. Manufactured by EVER Neuro Pharma. Administered by IM or IV injection. Contains a mixture of neurotrophic factors that mimic the activity of endogenous BDNF, GDNF, CNTF, and NGF.
Mechanism of Action
Multimodal neuroprotective mechanism: neurotrophic activity (mimics BDNF/NGF), anti-apoptotic signaling, anti-inflammatory effects, and modulation of synaptic plasticity. The peptide mixture crosses the blood-brain barrier.
